BOUN CE Senior students created the 3D virtual models of South Campus buildings in CE 495 Introduction to BIM

Dr. Semra Çomu Yapıcı instructed CE 495 Introduction to BIM elective course in the fall semester of 2020. Twenty students successfully completed the course. Since the COVID-19 forced all face-to-face courses to distance learning, sadly, we were not on campus. However, CE 495 students created the virtual version of historical buildings on the South Campus!! It was like we were on campus. They all did a great job! We are thrilled to see the realistic 3D models of our beautiful campus buildings.

Students developed not only 3D models of buildings using Revit but also created 4D and 5D models using Navisworks and PowerProject. Moreover, they conducted the energy analysis of the structures and proposed sustainable solutions to transform campus buildings into energy-efficient buildings inspired by bio-mimicry solutions.

Special thanks to the architect/technologist and founder of GenX Consultants İlkay Can-Standard, BIM Manager Barış Özgürcan Pozantı at Prota and Project Planning and BIM Specialist Batuhan Kaan Özarda at Prime PMO for their continued support. See below the Youtube video!
