Short Biography
Oya Mercan received her BS degree in Civil Engineering from Bogazici University as the first ranking student of class 2001. In 2003 she obtained her MS degree in Civil Engineering-Structures from Lehigh University where she currently is a Ph.D. candidate. Ms. Mercan’s dissertation topic is related to the real-time pseudodynamic testing of large scale structural systems and components under seismic loading. Her research involves the development and implementation of advanced servo-hydraulic system control laws in conjuction with real-time pseudodynamic testing algorithms.
