Short Biography
Dott. Ing. Agostino Marioni, born in Casteggio, Italy in 1943, graduated in Civil Engineering at “Politecnico di Milano” in 1966.
After an experience in bridge design at Stahlton AG, Zurich in 1968 and with Prof. Franco Levi, G. Corona, R. Perazzone in Turin from 1969 to 1973, he assumed the management of Alga, Milan in 1973. He is Chairman of Alga since 1985. Alga is operating in the field of structural engineering since more that 50 years and is primarily known in most countries of the world in the sector of bridge bearings, road expansion joints, antiseismic devices and post-tensioning systems. He is co-operating with “Politecnico di Milano” for the Chair of Bridges and Large Structures of Prof. Giorgio Malerba giving regular lectures on bridge bearings, antiseismic devices and post-tensioning since 1975.
Dott. Ing. A. Marioni is the Chairman of CEN TC 167, the European commission for the standardization of structural bearings and a member of CEN TC 340, the European commission for standardization of Anti-seismic devices. He is the author of 1 book and over 40 papers on structural bearings and antiseismic devices presented in National and International Conferences.
