A. Turkish Students:

(i) Those students seeking admission for the first time must take the Turkish University Entrance Examination administered by the student selection and placement center (ÖSYM). Only those students whose names appear on the official list of ÖSYM indicating that they have been placed at Bogazici University can be admitted to the University.

(ii) The above rule also applies to Turkish Cypriot Students.

B. Foreign Students

All foreign students seeking admission for the first time must take the Turkish University Entrance Examination for Foreigners (YÖS) and obtain the score required for admittance to Bogazici University.

C. All Students

All students, whether Turkish or foreign, who have been admitted to Bogazici University are required to take the Bogazici University English Proficiency Test.

Those who pass this test can enroll in Freshman Courses. Those who fail are admitted to the School of Foreign Languages to study English for a period of up to two years. These students can continue their undergraduate studies only upon successful completion of their English preparatory year.
